Yet another one of us (group of friend(s) from high school day) has walked down th aisle. One by one, we watch each other walking down the aisle and later down the path of motherhood. For my dear old friend, Felicia, she's walking down the path simultaneously. Well, not so stimultaneously since she and Keagan have both registered their marriage legally for more than a year already. Now, basically as most Chinese family requires is having the ceremony which in the eyes of our elders are the REAL DEAL. Somehow, even though legally, it the registration of the marriage that counts, traditional families see only the ceremony as the official way of recognising a marriage!
The day dawned on us and Joey being the good friend that she is was the very first to arrive promtly @ Felicia's house @ 6am. I however, only managed to drag my sorry ass up @ 6am and got there @ 7am. It is also traditional for the bridegroom to go through "severe bullying" before allowing access to his wife. The "bullying" is initiated by the bride's "chee mui(s)" and in Felicia's case, US!! Her old girlfriends and sisters. Poor Keagan! He has to face like 4 sisters!!!! Real sisters, not counting us. However, Keagan being the good sport that he is, is one of the best bridegroom to accomodate us I'd say! He complied to e'thing with great sport and a laugh.
Eeky stuff that poor Keagan downed down together with the help of his "heng tais"
.......
During the dinner, Keagan however got to get his revenge by calling up Rebecca (Felicia's youngest sister) along with her bf and Tek and I up onstage for some games. It was worth it cause we got angpows!!! Yayness!!
Got ang pow(s) ... So happieee!!
Oh well ... another single sister is gone. But I'm happy for her. Keagen and Felicia, I wish the both of you much happiness and love! Looking forward to your baby!!!
